Quick Introduction
Hello, my name is Emanuel Arnold. I’m a seasoned web designer and marketing specialist with over 10 years of related experience and a passion for helping small businesses and underrepresented organizations establish their presence on the Internet. I am based in Roanoke, Virginia, however, I have worked with clients locally and abroad to deliver beautiful, interactive, and engaging websites, as well as offer business support services in online marketing and graphic design.
My Toolbox
- Both PC and Mac computers for my various projects
- Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Flash, Illustrator,
- BBEdit for handcoding HTML, CSS, JavaScript and programming languages
- ScreenFlow and Vimeo for client video training
- Nikon DSLR for photography related needs
- Portable HD video camera for web video needs
- Additionally, I build web content management system websites on a variety of platforms: WordPress, Joomla!, MojoMotor, and ExpressionEngine (my favorite).
My Process
With each project, I strive for great organization and communication with clients. Specifically, I make sure that we understand and agree with the:
- Desired outcomes and goals of our project
- Cost implications of our project
- Time implications of our project
Project Guidelines: Are we a good fit for one another?
My passion is working on front-end related web projects because I enjoy the creativity and graphic design involved with the process. Ultimately, I love to help clients meet their web needs, but I also want to select projects that build relationships and ensure success. I prefer the following types of opportunities:
- Projects that allow me work as the main consultant— performing the roles that I excel in while providing additional resources when necessary
- Projects with a realistic timeline and budget.
- Projects lead by design teams or agencies where my involvement is providing the web-related direction and implementation.

I like to build beautiful, user-friendly websites and then hand them over to clients to maintain (after the prerequisite training, of course). I don’t mind making minor updates to websites that I create, but I prefer not to be an exclusive webmaster. However, I do provide webmaster options for clients who need this type of support. Below, I've listed types of projects that I generally do not prefer:
- Fixing broken sites that I didn’t build.
- Taking over the maintenance and upkeep of sites that I didn’t build.
- Projects that require me to be on-call for tech support
- Projects with an “emergency” due date or schedule
